Label
The labels for our bottles are made by artisans in Oaxaca. To make the labels, they craft a material that contains ixtle. Ixtle is a fiber extracted from the leaves of various agave plants.It has been used for centuries especially to make ropes.
In mezcal making, leaves are removed when harvesting the mature agave and only a few of them are used for making fire. Using the fibers to make labels is another way to give use to what would otherwise be a discard product.
